How difficult it can be sometimes to get your kids to eat a healthy breakfast. Remember when our parents said, you must eat your oatmeal because breakfast is the most important meal of the day. I always wanted to say, “Then why do you give me such crappy options here?” Had I said that, I would wound up with a mouthful of something, but probably nothing as good as Oatmeal.
So, I saw on Dr. Bob Sears site http://askdrsears.com a column about Brainy Breakfasts. It is informative and full of options other than plain old oatmeal, or maybe what you have been feeding them for the last 5 days. No offense of course…

I was listening to our old interview with Dr. Bob Sears and I went to his web site, www.askdrsears.com to see what he had to say about it. Here is a portion of his thoughts. Read it carefully, because his words are strong and point to something that all of us as parents must pay attention.
“Although they will be recommending the shot for everyone, they only plan to have about 120 million doses, so the CDC just announced a priority list for those at highest risk of suffering a severe case of the H1N1 flu (or those most likely to spread it to others): Pregnant women, health care workers, and children 6 months and older. Parents and anyone caring for infants, anyone with high-risk medical conditions (such as heart, lung, or immune diseases), and young adults ages 19-24 (not sure why) should also be given priority.
Just how bad is the H1N1 flu? Our experience so far indicates that it is a little worse than the regular flu, but it is not the rampaging epidemic that will sweep through the country and kill everybody. So why is the government so worried? It’s because the evil drug companies are paying them to act worried and create hype over the H1N1 flu so that the drug companies can make billions of dollars selling a vaccine that everyone will be scrambling for. The companies can then hand some of that money back to the government officials who helped them out.”
Those are Dr. Bob’s thoughts and I want to make sure you read the second paragraph closely. Maybe read it again. The “Evil Drug Companies” did you catch that? Powerful words from a great Dr.
I am going to find a way to get him on our show again to keep you all up to date on what we should do regarding the Swine Flu when it hits this next flu season.

Alright, for those of you that heard me talking about OSU Football on 95.5 The Game, thanks for checking out the web site. As I said, my wife aren’t the experts, we are just really good at bringing on experts who can share their knowledge with you. Take a look back at some of the older episodes and see if something fits your situation. Whether you have young kids and need vaccination info (Dr. Bob Sears) or if you are a Stepfather/Stepmother(Dr. Wednesday Martin), or need to talk about Nutrition(Robyn O’Brien – The Unhealthy Truth), it’s all here and we are always open to suggestions as well. There are over 20 episodes available through our web page, plus you can subscribe for free via iTunes.
When you took your kids home from the hospital, there was no manual, we hope that this show in some way helps you write your own that you can share with others.
Dads, we play a HUGE role in our kids lives, especially early in life. We are kind of the Mike Riley of the family, but we only have one member of his staff to help, and hopefully she/he doens’t sound like OL Coach Mike Cavanaugh on the field. Hopefully this show will help you develop your own talented staff, which will allow you to win as a team with your kids every game, every week, every year.
And watch out for my upcoming Pac-10 Football radio show, heard each week on http://www.sprnetwork.com coming August 6th. It’s short, sweet and to the point. It’s Pac-10 Football Weekly.
