Laura brought back more than just luggage and Macadamia nuts from Hawaii. She discussed what she learned and how she has utilized that as a parent, allowing her to connect even more with the boys. Todd referred to his big learning this week: “It’s happening for you, not to you.” Simple change, big difference…great show.

Todd and Laura returned home to find that Grandma had spanked their 3 and 6 year olds. No matter what the reason, it is their belief that there is no reason to ever hit a child. It may spark a debate at your home. What to do now? Don’t allow the Grandparents to see the grandchildren? Spank the Grandparents? Or let the boys come up with the discipline for a Grandmother who made a poor decision?

Want to hear a real fight? Todd and Laura had one on the air. Laura wants community day to be authentic conversation and that’s what she got from Todd, who explained that when she said she couldn’t trust him to do something at home, it triggered him BIG time! While they were at each other’s throats right before going on air and at the start of the show, by the end, they were laughing and loving. It just shows that open communication and sharing your true feelings can make a difference.

Maple Bars! That’s what makes Todd’s Birthday great every year. This time, no Maple Bars and a 3 year old boy screaming in his ears at 6:45. Happy 42nd! Is this when men have a mid life crisis? But wait, it was Community Day, so everything was supposed to be rosy. Laura reacted to mom’s who judge other moms. Todd reflected on saying goodbye to his Senior class. At least they remembered to give him a big bag of Kirkland Trail Mix for his Birthday.

I hope you enjoyed winning free tickets to hear Lance Armstrong’s Team doctor speak in Portland on Friday night. Glad we could send you. Did you read anymore about the Pedouins? What an amazing story. This weekend, Todd is going to try and ask his kids instead of tell them. He better, it’s a boys only weekend.
